An etagere styled with various unique home objects

Custom Curation & Styling by SoS

If you’re looking to add finishing touches to an area or a whole room, I would love to help. I source unique home decor specifically for your project and take care of all of the styling guided by your input. There are two ways we could work together depending on the level of involvement and budget you’d prefer.

My Offerings

VIRTUAL STYLING

The whole process will take place virtually. For a flat fee, I will provide an edit of products (with shoppable links) and styling mock-ups for you to follow. The idea is to make it as easy and foolproof as possible for you.

BESPOKE STYLING

This option would be completely hands on and in-person. After an on-site consultation to understand your style and space, I would provide mood boards and product edits for input, then I would style the objects in your home.

If you prefer to do it all yourself, check out the SoS Guides which offer styling ideas, curated looks, and inspiration to help you visualize them.

My Approach

I think of home decor as the finishing touches that bring a home to life. After you have all the big stuff like wall color and furniture nailed, decorative accents can add so much character and warmth to the space. Have you ever walked into an empty home and felt welcome? Typically not. On the other hand, when you see lots of personal elements and interesting things to look at, you want to stay for a while. Here’s how I help you get that feeling through decor.

  • Before anything else comes YOU. Your home should be a reflection of you and your story. I want to get to know you - what you care about, what you like/dislike, what inspires you. These inputs will help me the right objects for you and tell your story through decor and styling.

  • I source unique decor as I believe it offers the biggest visual impact and feels more special and personal as opposed to something a million other people have. This could mean a little color, an interesting design detail, or something else that makes it stand out.

  • Quality matters. I like to find pieces that will last a lifetime, with a strong leaning toward vintage or craftmade pieces. This is a more sustainable approach and works with the idea of creating a collected home that builds over time vs something more disposable.

  • My approach to styling is perfectly imperfect, with the aim for the aesthetic to appear lived-in and not overtly ‘styled’. I can accommodate a preference for a cleaner look or a more layered style.

The details are not the details. The details make the design.

Styling Projects

If you aren’t sure where to start, here are some ideas of areas where styling can drastically transform a space.

  • Art (or decorative object) to fill a blank wall

  • Shelves

  • Mantle

  • Tables - coffee table, console table, side tables

  • Bar cart

  • Dressing table

  • Plants as decorative accents

  • Bedroom accents (throws, area rug, bedside table decor)

  • Table settings / tablescape for dinner party or an event

  • Collections of tableware (formal or casual)

  • Bathroom accents

We can talk it through if you haven’t figured out exactly what to focus on. I can assess your space and help you narrow down the options to get the biggest outcome.

Virtual Styling

I will give you the products and the styling support for you to style an area in your home.

What it includes:

  • Onboarding questionnaire to gather information about your style, preferences and details about the space (including images and measurements) and any objects you’d like to incorporate in the design

  • Mock ups of where to put the objects with detailed styling guidelines

  • A product edit with options for each piece (with shoppable links)

Timing:

2 week turnaround after receiving filled-in questionnaire

Cost:

$200 per individual project

Bespoke Styling

I will provide you with a bespoke styling experience, handling every aspect for you, from sourcing to styling in your home.

What it includes:

  • Onboarding call to learn about your style and preferences and finalize the sourcing budget

  • 2-3 mood boards complete with inspiration and products

  • In-person site visit to take photos and measurements and “shop your home” to identify any objects you already own that could be used in the project

  • A product edit (with shoppable links) with one round of feedback to refine the list*

  • In-person styling within the New York metro area (other locations can be accommodated with detailed mock ups to guide where to place the products)

*Depending on your preference, I can order the product and bill you back, or you can order yourself.

Timing: 4 - 6 weeks

  • I will complete the mood boards within 1-2 weeks of the onboarding call. Ideally, the site visit would take place within that window to inform the mood boards.

  • Sourcing will take 2-3 weeks depending on the scope of the project.

  • Finally, the installation at your home will be scheduled at a time that works for you.

Cost:

  • After an initial consultation about the project goals and parameters, I will provide a bespoke quote.

  • I ask for a 25% deposit before getting started with the rest of the amount due at the project’s completion.

  • The budget for product purchases is handled separately. We will agree to a product budget upfront; I can advise on an amount based on the parameters of the project, but am happy to work within any budget you are comfortable with.
